Out Getaways (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent LGBTQI+ travel guide. This policy explains what data is collected when you use this site, why, and how it is handled. We aim to keep data collection minimal and to use privacy-respecting tools where possible.

Analytics

We use Umami, a self-hosted, open-source analytics platform. Umami does not use cookies, does not track users across sites, and does not share data with third parties. It collects anonymised page view data (page URL, referrer, browser type, country) solely to help us understand how the site is used. No personally identifiable information is collected or stored.

Umami is hosted on our own infrastructure. Analytics data is not shared with or sold to any third party.

Affiliate links and cookies

Out Getaways participates in affiliate programmes. When you follow accommodation or activity links on this site, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This is how we fund the site.

We use Stay22 as our primary affiliate platform. Stay22’s script (letmeallez.js) is loaded on every page. This script:

• Analyses page content to surface relevant accommodation links
• Sets affiliate tracking cookies when you interact with accommodation links
• May open a background browser tab to set affiliate cookies when you use our search or trip planner tools

Stay22 cookies are used solely for affiliate attribution — to ensure we receive credit if you book accommodation after clicking through from this site. Stay22’s own privacy policy governs their data handling. You can find it at stay22.com/privacy.

We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or social media tracking scripts.

Content delivery

Page content and images are served via Sanity’s CDN. Sanity may log request metadata (IP address, user agent) as part of normal CDN operation. Sanity’s privacy policy applies to this data.

No account or form data

Out Getaways does not require you to create an account. We do not operate contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, or comment sections. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information directly.

Cookies summary

You can block or clear cookies at any time via your browser settings. Blocking affiliate cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.

Your rights

If you are located in the EU, UK, or Australia, you may have rights under applicable privacy law (GDPR, UK GDPR, Privacy Act 1988) including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data held about you. Because we collect no personal data directly, there is generally nothing to access, correct, or delete on our side. For data held by Stay22 or Sanity, please contact those services directly.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
